What a Christmas Gift!

While Christmas as a four year old is magical as it is (and it is! more on that later), we had to share the first gift we opened this morning, which was the following message from Papa:

I have two new grandchildren. Baby girl Bhavnani was born at 1:06am on Christmas morning, followed by baby boy Bhavnani at 1:08. She was 5# -0 and 16", he was 5# -6 and 17.3" ...no names yet. Jennifer's water broke at about 9:40pm, after a sumptuous dinner, while we were opening presents. The hospital has instituted Draconian visiting rules because of H1N1; only 2 visitors (including the father) every 24 hours. So I can't see them until late tomorrow night, or more probably Saturday morning, if not later. Jennifer's mom is ecstatic, and may not want to leave. Jennifer will be in the hospital recovering from a C-section for about 4 nights. I've seen pictures of the babies, and they look amazingly beautiful and fully developed. I should get pictures to share tomorrow.

Needless to say, we're very excited to have twin cousins to play with!

Dianne Marie (Birnie) Windsor - June 27, 1962 - October 21, 2008

Dear friends and family,

We're deeply saddened to communicate that Si and Gabe lost their Auntie Dianne last week. Derek's older sister suffered a massive heart attack and passed in her sleep. Mercifully, she likely didn't experience any pain.

Dianne Marie Windsor, born June 27, 1962 in Tacoma, WA passed October 21, 2008 at her home in Tacoma.

She is survived by her loving husband, David, and their children, Jared, Audrianna, and Ethan. She is also survived by her mother, Margaret Birnie of Tacoma; her brothers Derek (Suzanne) Birnie of Seattle, and David Birnie of Fife, WA; her sisters Margot Birnie of Puyallup, WA, Suzanne of Mountlake Terrace, and Jennifer of Tacoma; her sisters in law Kerry Parish and Colleen Huntington of Tacoma; and her many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

All who knew and loved Dianne will remember her kind heart, loving personality, and wonderful sense of humor.

A Celebration of Dianne's life will be held Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 2pm at St. Luke's Memorial Episcopal Church, 3615 N Gove St. Tacoma, WA 98407.
